Rick Kilpatrick

Coach Rick Kilpatrick is currently the Varsity Boys coach at Ayer-Shirley Regional High School.  During the 2024-2025 season, Coach Rick won his 350th game as a head coach. In 2022, he helped lead his team to their first league title in 19 years. They won the league title again in 2024 and 2025. He started his head coaching career as the varsity boys coach at Acton-Boxborough from 1997 to 2018.  During that time, Acton-Boxborough captured six Dual County League championships, a sectional championship, and three other sectional finals appearances. Acton-Boxborough advanced to the State Tournament 18 times in 21 years.  Coach Kilpatrick left A-B as the winningest basketball coach in the school's history. Overall, his teams have won nine league championship in 27 years and qualified for the state tournament 23 times. Coach Rick has coached seven career 1000+ point scorers and numerous players have gone on to play in college.

In 2022, Coach Kilpatrick was recognized for the third time as Massachusetts Basketball Coaches Association 'Coach of the Year'.  He has also been recognized as Coach of the Year by both the Lowell Sun and the Metrowest Daily News.  Coach Kilpatrick is excited to dedicate his time and passion to teaching the game so players will learn to play the right way, while also having fun, and building their self confidence.

ELEVATION COACHING STAFF
SPRING 2025
  • TEAM COACHES: David Crawley, Andrew Linnehan, Chris Roy, Jon Kovach, Shawn Hebert, Sean Sullivan, Ryan Donovan, Jamie Carroll, Brian Holmes, Zach Iannacone and Rick Kilpatrick.
  • ADDITIONAL INSTRUCTORS: Reggie Hobbs, Anson Joe Leo, Lucas Corbett, Kieran Onigman.
Elevation Basketball Staff​​​​​​
  • Reggie Hobbs: Coach Hobbs is currently a science teacher and the varsity boys basketball coach at Lexington High School.  Prior to that he was an assistant coach at Lasell College, Endicott College and Tufts University.  Coach Hobbs played college basketball at Carleton College. Coach Hobbs is a lead skills instructor and will be directing the Sunday Night  Skills clinics at Millworks.​​
  • David Crawley: David is a former vasity player at Acton-Boxborough and lead counselor at Elevation summer camps. He currently coaches in our AAU program (5th grade coach)
  • Chris Roy: Chris is a resident of Harvard and the coach of one of our 6th Grade teams. Chris played four years of Varsity basketball at Acton-Boxborough.  In fact, he started on Coach Kilpatrick's very first team as a head coach! (6th grade coach)
  • Brian Holmes: Brian played four years of varsity basketball at Ayer-Shirley. He was a career 1000 point scorer and all-star in football, basketball and baseball. Brian is currently a sophomore at Ave Maria University and play football. (5th grade coach)
  • Sean Sullivan: This is Coach Sullivan's second season with Elevation.  This Spring he is coaching the 8th grade team.  Sean was an accomplished basketball player at Lexington High School before going on to play college ball at Fitchburg State. He is currently a special educator in Bedford and the boys varsity assistant coach at Melrose High School.

  • Andrew Linnehan: Andrew grew up and played basketball in Chelmsford.  This is his second year coaching for Elevation and this Spring is coaching one of our 6th grade teams.
  • Jamie Carroll: Coach Carroll is new to the Elevation staff this spring and will be coaching the 9th grade. Coach Carroll is currently he JV girls coach in both basketball and softball at Maynard High School.
  • Jon Kovach: Coach Kovach returns to the Elevation program this Spring as one of our 6th grade coaches.  Jon played varsity basketball at Westford Academy for legendary high school coach, Eddie Scollan.  Late Jon became a member of Coach Scollan's coaching staff.
  • Ryan Donovan: Ryan began coaching with Elevation in the Fall of 2024 and immediately made a positive impact on our program.  Ryan brings and infectious energy and enthusiasm with him every day while working with his 5th grade squad.
  • Zach Iannacone: Coach Zach just completed his high school career at Ayer-Shirley.  During that time he scored over 1000 career points and helped lead his team to three league championships.  Zach will be assisting with the 6th grade teams.
  • Sarah Tufano: This is Coach Tufano's second season with Elevation.  She played college basketball at Swarthmore.  She is currently the President of Harvard Youth Basketball and the girls JV coach at the Bromfield School.  She is coaching our 4th grade team this Spring.
  • Josh Rosenstein: Coach Josh s joining the Elevation staff in the Fall of 2024 as one of our 6th grade coaches.  Josh played varsity basketball and was a team captain at Westford Academy and recently graduated from Middlebury College.
